The Sony XPERIA Tipo Dual utilises an 800 MHz processor and the ice cream sandwich version of the android operating system, which within this unit is version 4.0.3. The handset has dimensions of 103 mm x 57 mm wide as well as being 13 mm thick and weighs 99 grams in weight.

In addition the unit comes with a 3.15 megapixel camera which operates on a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and which also offers the means to record VGA quality video at an alternative to still imagery. It has also comes with an organiser, document viewer as well as voice memo facility whilst also providing the useful function known as predictive text input.
